Age-related macular degeneration is a progressive, chronic disease of the retina. It is the leading cause of severe visual impairment in the elderly. More than 1.6 million Americans ages 50 and older have AMD.
This unique 60-minute on-demand webcast will focus on the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of AMD, including new approaches for the management of macular lesions. Two leading ophthalmologists with expertise in AMD will present state-of-the-art information on the disease and its optimal care.
As part of this in-depth CME-accredited program, the faculty will provide case studies to illustrate key points relative to detection of the disease and strategies to halt its progression and minimize vision loss.
Both traditional and emerging therapies will be discussed, including their efficacy, optimal use and pharmacoeconomic considerations. Induction and maintenance approaches will be emphasized. In the interactive portion of the program, audience members will have the opportunity to answer multiple choice questions that will demonstrate their own understanding of the topic.
